With Thiago Silva set to leave Chelsea this summer, it looks like bringing in a defender is going to become a priority for the club, and some names are being mentioned pretty regularly.
What we need is a top tier, experienced defender to come in and lead the back line, and according to HITC, one of our top options is Gleison Bremer of Juventus. The Italian giants are apparently “making him available” by signalling to clubs across the continent that he’s up for sale at the right price.
He’s developing into one of Europe’s best players in his position, and is exactly the sort of warrior-type centre back that we’re missing in our defence.
The issue is, as always, the price tag. This report says he would cost £50m, and it’s easy to see even that increasing if multiple teams are interested, as seems to be the case. Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U, Newcastle and Tottenham are all been mentioned.
