Akwatia By-election: NDC will win the seat – Popular election prophet predicts

Popular Ghanaian pastor Samuel Henry, known as Prophet Roja, has made a prophecy about the upcoming Akwatia by-election.

The people of Akwatia will soon head to the polls to choose a new Member of Parliament following the unfortunate death of their MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi.

Mr. Kumi passed away on July 7, 2025, after reportedly falling ill and being rushed to the hospital. Both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have already chosen their candidates for the race.

The NPP is being represented by Solomon Kwame Asumadu, Chief Executive Officer of Owuo Mining Company, while the NDC has selected Lawyer Bernard Bediako Baidoo.

The by-election is set for Tuesday, September 2, 2025, when political parties, residents and other stakeholders will decide who replaces Mr. Kumi. Ahead of the vote, Prophet Roja has declared who he believes will win.

In a recent interview, he stated that the NDC would take the seat.

“NDC will win the seat. Yeah, I’m asking the NPP to do something if they don’t, NDC will win the elections hands down. But till now, no one has contacted me, both NDC and the NPP,” he said.
