Sad news hit Director of Ghana Law School
The General Legal Council has ended the appointment of Justice Nana Yaw Oppong as Director of the Ghana School of Law and Legal Education, according to a report by thelawplatform.online. His tenure will now end abruptly on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

The report described the move as surprising, noting that Justice Oppong, known for his expertise in land law and years of service as a lecturer, had been expected to complete his four-year term.
Justice Oppong reportedly informed students about the development on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, expressing gratitude to God for guidance and protection during his three years in the role.
Citing additional information from citinewsroom.com, the report said Justice Oppong had hoped to finish the full term or at least oversee the current academic year and the upcoming Bar admission ceremony. However, he stated, “Sadly, that was not to be.”
He is also said to have wished the Part II students success in their October call to the Bar and encouraged Part I students to work hard and advance to the next stage of their studies.
“May God richly bless you all and grant us success in every endeavour. Thank you,” he concluded.
