Akwatia By-Election: The trending IGP Tetteh Yohuno warning

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has issued a strong warning to supporters of both the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the Akwatia parliamentary by-election.

Addressing the media, the IGP said anyone who tries to cause trouble during the elections would face the full force of the law.

“If you come with any intention of causing trouble, we won’t allow you to go free,” he said.

Mr Yohuno assured the public that the Ghana Police Service is fully prepared to maintain peace and protect lives and property before, during and after the by-election.

He also advised supporters of the candidates to avoid carrying weapons to polling stations.
