He killed his girlfriend in the bathroom and fled – Not knowing death was also waiting for him
The community of Rooisteen has been left in shock and grief following the gruesome discovery of 36-year-old Prudence Nkosi’s decomposing body inside her bathroom.

Nkosi had not been seen for several days, prompting her neighbors to grow concerned. Their fears were confirmed when a foul stench began emanating from her flat, leading them to alert the authorities. Police made the horrific discovery on Tuesday morning.
According to police reports, Nkosi was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, 38-year-old Thabang Senyenyane. After committing the crime, Senyenyane reportedly fled to his hometown of Qwa-Qwa in the Free State, where he later took his own life.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Nkosi may have been dead for several days before her body was found. Forensic teams have cordoned off the flat as they work to determine the exact cause and time of death. A murder docket has been opened despite the prime suspect now being deceased.
The community was further shaken when it emerged that Senyenyane had previously been accused of murder in a separate case. Residents are now questioning how he remained free despite his violent history.
Gender-based violence activists and local leaders have condemned the murder, demanding stronger protections for women.
“This is yet another tragic reminder of how vulnerable women continue to be in our society. Prudence’s life was cut short by someone who was supposed to love and protect her,” said one activist during a vigil held outside Nkosi’s flat on Wednesday.
