Chelsea will look amazing after international break with Maresca dream XI

Chelsea’s dramatic win over Liverpool on Saturday will be remembered for many reasons — a last-minute winner, a victory over the reigning champions, and a performance full of resilience despite injury troubles threatening to derail the team.

Before the game at Stamford Bridge, Enzo Maresca had just three fit senior centre-backs available.

Josh Acheampong, who is still very new to the first team, and Benoit Badiashile started together in the heart of defence. Both were impressive against Liverpool’s attack, showing maturity beyond their years.

However, in the second half, both Acheampong and Badiashile picked up injuries and had to leave the pitch. Chelsea were forced to finish the game with Reece James and Jorrel Hato playing as makeshift centre-backs.
