Watch the deadly shootout at Sakumono

There was total chaos at the Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono, a suburb of Accra, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, after a group of armed men believed to be landguards and thugs stormed the area and began shooting randomly.

According to reports by GHOne TV, the heavily built men invaded the golf club, causing panic and confusion among golfers and other people present. The attackers reportedly fired several gunshots and threatened anyone who tried to confront them.

A video shared by the media outlet showed terrified people running for safety as gunshots echoed across the golf course. In the footage, one of the armed men could be seen pointing his weapon and shooting toward a group of people at the far end of the club.

As the shots rang out, some bystanders could be heard shouting, “We dey here oo,” pleading with the shooter to stop. However, the man continued firing before slowly retreating. Moments later, more muscular men joined him, and together they walked toward the direction of the earlier gunfire.

The disturbing scene has raised concerns about the growing activities of landguards and armed groups in Accra and other parts of the country.
