I know Akosua Serwaa as my brother’s legal wife – Lumba’s sister Ernestina Fosu
Ernestina Akosua Brimpomaa Fosu, the elder sister of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Ofosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has revealed the exact number of children her brother had before his death.

Speaking in a video, Ernestina said the family decided to clarify the issue to prevent misinformation from spreading about the late musician’s family and personal life.
According to her, Daddy Lumba had a total of 11 children with four different women.
“My brother gave birth to 11 children with four women. Two of the women are now married to other men. Some of the children are in Canada and they are older. Some of the children are still in school, until his demise he used to send money to his children in Germany,” she stated.
Ernestina also spoke about the legal issues surrounding Daddy Lumba’s death, particularly involving his wife, Akosua Serwaa. She explained that Akosua Serwaa, who was legally married to the late musician, has gone to court to seek certain reliefs.
“Akosua Serwaa told the family at a meeting that she wanted to be the only woman who would perform the widowhood rites as demanded by culture. As for me, I did not see anything wrong with her request because I know her as my brother’s legal wife,” she said.
She went on to allege that there were attempts to organize the funeral without her, Akosua Serwaa, and some of Daddy Lumba’s children who live abroad. “They wanted to do the funeral without me, Akosua Serwaa and his children who are abroad,” she said.
When asked why she is insisting on knowing the cause of her brother’s death, Ernestina explained that there have been conflicting reports, and she wants the truth to be made clear. She said the family has heard several versions of what led to his passing, and she believes it is important for them to know the actual cause to bring closure.
