BREAKING: Fire at Scholarship Secretariat as six officials arrested

Six officials of the Scholarship Secretariat have been arrested by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) as part of an ongoing audit into the institution’s operations.

According to sources, the officials were taken into custody several weeks ago and later granted bail while investigations continue. They remain under scrutiny as the audit progresses.

Authorities have not yet released details about the specific offences or the findings that led to their arrest.

This development comes after growing concerns about alleged irregularities under the Secretariat’s former leadership. The current Registrar, Alexander Asafo-Agyei, raised these concerns shortly after his appointment in February 2025.
