NPP flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong has come under heavy criticism and been labelled a hypocrite following his recent call for the Church to decide who leads Ghana.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Eternal Life Church in Accra on Sunday, Kennedy Agyapong, who is seeking to become the NPP flagbearer for the 2028 election, urged the Christian community to take a stronger role in shaping the country’s political leadership.
“The situation we are in now requires that the Church should be bold to come out and take directions on who should be the leader of this country,” he said.
However, many Ghanaians on social media have accused him of hypocrisy, pointing to his past criticism of churches and religious leaders, as well as his open admission that he is not a fan of attending church.
The former Assin Central MP has previously used his media platforms, Oman FM and Net2 TV, to launch frequent attacks on pastors, branding several of them as fake men of God.
Following his recent comments, social media users have resurfaced some of his old quotes and videos in which he harshly criticized the Church, questioning his sudden change in tone.
