Dr Bawumia get 22 out of 25 in Assin South

Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign continued to gain momentum in the Central Region on Thursday, with another strong show of support.

Dr Bawumia, who has been touring the region and receiving several endorsements since Monday, visited four constituencies: Asebu, and the three Assin constituencies — Assin South, Assin North, and Assin Central.

In the Assin area, where Kennedy Agyapong — one of the NPP flagbearer hopefuls — comes from, supporters came out strongly to welcome Dr Bawumia. While Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong’s home constituency, was not as vibrant, both Assin South and Assin North showed overwhelming support.

In Assin South, where Rev. Ntim Fordjour is the MP, Dr Bawumia received a significant boost after almost all the electoral area coordinators publicly endorsed him.

Out of 23 coordinators, 22 declared their support and promised to work towards his victory.

A representative of the group said, “We are electoral area coordinators from Assin South, and we have seen the goodness in Dr Bawumia. We have all decided to back him to be our party’s flagbearer again.”

“We are 25 in number. Only two are not with us, and one has passed away. The remaining 22 are here to pledge our support for Dr Bawumia to lead our party to victory in 2028.”

They also dismissed claims that Dr Bawumia caused the NPP’s defeat in 2024, questioning why the same blame was not placed on the many parliamentary candidates who also lost their seats…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
