VIDEO: Daddy Lumba’s Abusuapanin steals the spotlight as he storms court with police detail

Daddy Lumba’s family head, Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, caused a stir at the premises of the Kumasi High Court as he arrived with a police detail.

A legal case has broken out between the two wives of the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba over who should be held out as his lawful wife.

Akosua Serwaa, the singer’s first wife, based in Germany, dragged his second wife, Odo Broni, and Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu before the Kumasi High Court seeking a declaration that she was his only recognised spouse.

In a statement released October 9, she said any other person claiming to be the late singer’s wife was illegitimate since they were married under German civil law.

“We also wish to remind the public that Mr. Charles Kwadwo Fosuh was a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany, and was legally married to Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh on 23rd December 2004 in Bornheim, Germany. Under German law, no man who is already legally married can enter into another marriage,” the statement said.

Akosua Serwaa also expressed concern that she was not being consulted in planning for Daddy Lumba’s funeral despite being his legally wedded wife.

In a video seen by DailyNewsGhana, Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu arrived at the Kumasi High Court for the next hearing in the case between Akosua Serwaa, Odo Broni, and himself.

The infamous family head, nicknamed Tupac on social media, arrived in an attention-grabbing manner as he was guarded by three police officers.

He walked into the courtroom wrapped in a black cloth with the officers closely following him. It’s unclear what led to the decision to give the family head a police detail but the feud between the two sides of the Fosuh family has become more contentious in recent days.
