Bawumia is winning the elections hands down with 70% – NPP’s Kamal-Deen

A former National Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kamal-Deen Abdullai, says he is confident that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will secure at least 70% of total votes in the party’s upcoming presidential primary.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Kamal-Deen said Dr. Bawumia’s victory is “already blessed by God” and will happen “whether rain or shine.”

He called for unity within the party after the internal contest, stressing that Dr. Bawumia will need the support of all aspirants as the NPP works to rebuild ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“Bawumia is winning the elections hands down; he will win with 70% of the votes. After the elections, it doesn’t mean he will run the campaign alone; he will need everyone on board. The other aspirants are gentle; I don’t dislike them. However, everyone has their time. What God has ordained as destiny is what will prevail,” he stated.

Kamal-Deen cautioned that internal attacks and acrimony could weaken the party, especially after losing key voter bases in the 2024 elections.

He also raised concerns over a claim by an NDC MP alleging that she received assistance from someone within the NPP to win her seat, saying the party must address internal weaknesses.

“We should be mindful of our utterances, regardless of whom we support. We need to critically assess why we lost the general elections; we lost our core voters, so we should be cautious going into the primaries. Internal conflict will not help us. If we come together, complete the primaries without problems, get our executives in place, and work hard, I believe we can perform better and even beat the NDC.
