Man faked his death, flee to Europe with $375K out of his insurance policy
A man has taken drastic steps to escape his own family and secretly travel to a European country.

The young man reportedly faked his death so he could leave his family behind and move abroad. He is said to have funded the trip with $375,000 taken from his insurance.
According to The New York Times, authorities spent weeks searching a lake in Wisconsin for his body.
Investigators later discovered that he had transferred money into a foreign bank account and had been communicating with a woman in Uzbekistan.
The man, identified as Mr. Borgwardt, 45, a husband and father of three from Watertown, Wisconsin, was declared missing on August 12.
