President Mahama have not receive Jean Mensa petition – Kwakye Ofosu
Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu says the presidency has not yet received the petition filed by Electoral Commission staffer Joseph Blankson Adumadzie calling for the removal of EC Chairperson Jean Mensa and her two deputies.

According to him, such petitions are usually routed through the Secretary to the President, but the Secretary has not seen the document.
“Normally, it will go to the Secretary to the President if it is addressed to the President. I’ve engaged him. He has not sighted it yet, but I’m sure that if he does, there’s a process, a long-standing process, that this goes through, and any information on that will be conveyed to your public before this one,” he said.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu also stated that he is not aware of any other similar petition. He noted that if such a petition existed and reached the Secretary’s office, the public would be informed, just as they were in the case involving the Chief Justice.
He stressed that the government is committed to keeping citizens updated while respecting constitutional processes. He added that this commitment reflects a deliberate shift toward openness because public officials hold office in trust for the people.
The Minister pointed out that he has been in office for only ten months and emphasised that no public office is owned by any individual. He said those who occupy such positions do so with the mandate and resources of the public and must be accountable.
He explained that if a petition is filed against any public office holder, it is proper for the government to inform the public about receiving it, the procedures involved, and the actions being taken.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu said this is intended to avoid situations where major decisions appear suddenly without public understanding of their origins.
