Noticing the early warning signs is important to prevent permanent blindness. Here are five common signs that your eyesight may be getting worse and what you can do.
1. Blurred or Cloudy Vision
If you often struggle to focus or see clearly—especially from far away—it may be an early sign of cataracts, glaucoma, or macular degeneration.
What to do:
Get a full eye exam at least once a year. Eat foods rich in vitamin A and lutein, such as carrots and leafy vegetables.
2. Difficulty Seeing at Night
If driving or walking in dim light becomes harder, your eyes may be losing their ability to adjust to darkness. This can point to vitamin A deficiency or early cataracts.
