Pastor fakes his own kidnap to extort money from his congregation
The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a Methodist Church pastor in Ado-Ekiti, Adegoke Adewuyi, for allegedly planning his own kidnap in order to extort N3 million from his congregation.

Police sources said the clergyman arranged with one Oluwadare Sunday to fake the abduction. On Sunday, June 9, reports circulated that the pastor had been kidnapped between Esa-Oke in Osun State and Aramoko-Ekiti in Ekiti State. Sunday later contacted church members, claiming the pastor was in his custody and would only be released if they paid a N3 million ransom.
He told the church that the ransom must be paid on or before Thursday, June 13, or the pastor would be killed.
However, he was arrested by policemen when he arrived to collect the ransom at Okeyinmi area of Ado-Ekiti. Sunday then led detectives to the hotel where the pastor had been hiding…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
