NPP wins latest poll in Kpandai election rerun
Matthew Nyndam of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) holds a slim lead in the Kpandai by-election over his closest rival from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The latest poll from renowned pollster Mussa Dankwah of Global InfoAnalytics shows Nyndam with a 4-point advantage.
Sharing the results on X, Mussa noted: “First poll for the Kpandai re-run shows NPP’s Matthew Nyindam holds a 4 points lead over NDC’s Daniel Wakpal, meaning the race is statistically tied as the margin of error is 3.9%. Nyindam 50%, Wakpal 46%, Other candidate 1%, Undecided 3%.”
The by-election follows a petition filed by NDC candidate Daniel Nsala Wakpal on January 30, 2025, challenging the declaration of Nyndam as MP for Kpandai. The petition alleged irregularities in the parliamentary election results, citing discrepancies in Forms 8A for 41 out of 152 polling stations.
Wakpal argued that the December 7 election violated Regulation 39 of the Public Elections Regulations 2020 (CI 127) and requested the High Court nullify the results in affected polling stations and order a rerun.
Justice Emmanuel Brew Plange nullified the results and ordered a fresh poll within 30 days. Lawyers for Nyndam subsequently filed for a stay of execution pending appeal.
