High priest of the Ga state dead

The La Kpaa Wulomo, Nuumo Yemoh Obroni VII, has reportedly passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

The death of the respected high priest of the Ga State and La in the Greater Accra Region was confirmed by popular blogger, The Ga-Dangme Kingdom, in a Facebook post. The exact cause of death was not disclosed, although some reports suggest he had been ill.

Details about his age have not been made public, and the La Traditional Council is yet to issue an official statement on his passing.

In mourning, The Ga-Dangme Kingdom shared photos of Nuumo Yemoh Obroni VII at public events and accompanied them with a Ga proverb, stating:

“Rest in peace. Nuumo Yemoh Obroni. La kpaa Wulomo. Etéé baa tsémɔ, ebaaa! Tso wulu ko efá!”
