Nigerian medical student stabbed to death by Ukrainian lady

Gbolade Ibukun Ejemai, a Nigerian medical doctor, has reportedly died after being stabbed by a woman identified as Victoria Popravko, with the alleged involvement of her father in Ukraine.

Sharing details of the incident, a friend of the deceased, Dr. Ajayi, said Victoria Popravko invited Gbolade Ejemai to her house on Friday, August 8, 2019, to discuss some issues in the morning.

According to him, the two had previous discussions, although the details were not clearly known, as they were in a relationship. He explained that Gbolade went to her house, which was not his first visit, but it turned out to be his last.

Dr. Ajayi said they got into an argument, and during the confrontation, she stabbed him twice in the abdomen, puncturing several organs and leaving him in a coma. He lost about 40 percent of his blood, which put him in a critical condition.

He was taken in for his first surgery on the same day, and they waited almost 24 hours for him to regain consciousness. On Sunday, he reportedly opened his eyes and was able to recognize people.

He added that they were unaware of the involvement of a hammer and its impact until Gbolade regained consciousness and spoke about it. The family and friends hoped for his recovery and continued praying until Monday, when he developed complications and had to undergo a second surgery.

The second surgery was said to have gone well, but he did not regain consciousness. By Tuesday afternoon, he passed away.

Victoria was arrested at the scene of the incident but was reportedly granted bail 24 hours later because “she had two kids to cater for” and authorities could not detain her while investigations were ongoing.

Dr. Ajayi described the decision as unfair, stating that she was arrested at a murder scene. He said it is a serious case and called on the public to speak up to seek justice for Gbolade.

“This is unfair judgement because she was caught at a murder scene. It is a serious case and we need to put our voices together to avenge our brother’s death. We will not be silenced! We will not be cheated! Gbolade deserves justice and we can make it happen.”…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
