Pentecost elder allegedly unalive wife in Ashanti Region

A Church of Pentecost elder, identified as Kwame Sarpong, is on the run after allegedly killing his wife, Abena Oforiwaah, at Gyametanhunu in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.

According to a report by Angel TV, the incident reportedly followed a heated argument over alleged infidelity.

The deceased is said to have accused her husband, an elder of the Church of Pentecost at the Gyametanhunu branch, of cheating on her.

The accusation allegedly led to a serious confrontation between the couple, which later escalated into violence and resulted in the woman’s death.

After the alleged incident, the suspect reportedly fled the community, prompting the police to begin a manhunt to locate and arrest him.

Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, reporter Chuku Joseph explained how the incident was uncovered.

“The 55-year-old elder allegedly killed his wife after an argument over cheating. The woman accused him of infidelity and the elder is said to have killed her in their room and locked it. A farmer later perceived a strong stench and upon rushing to the place, discovered that the woman was dead with blood oozing from her body,” he said.

Another account indicated that a farmer raised the alarm after noticing a foul smell coming from the house.

“A farmer came to inform us that we should check a particular place because it was smelling badly. When we got there, we realized the woman was dead inside the room,” an eyewitness said.
