Stay away from the presidency – Bawumia’s aide tells Ken Agyapong

Kwesi Botchway Junior, a private legal practitioner and special aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has praised Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong for his long-standing commitment and sacrifices to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), but insists that he does not possess the qualities required to lead Ghana as President.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Botchway Jr. acknowledged Agyapong’s contributions to the party over the years, describing him as a loyal and committed member who has consistently supported the NPP and its members.

However, he argued that Kennedy Agyapong’s strengths lie outside public office, particularly in the private sector.

“I love Kennedy Agyapong. He does not have what it takes. He should focus on his businesses, continue to create jobs, and stay away from the presidency.”

Botchway Jr. also dismissed suggestions that there is widespread national support for Kennedy Agyapong to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections. According to him, such claims are driven mainly by a loud minority rather than the general electorate.

He further noted that Agyapong’s past public statements continue to work against him, stressing that many Ghanaians still recall his history of insulting key voter groups, including market women and religious leaders, whose support is crucial in winning national elections.

Commenting on recent prophecies, particularly those by Prophet El Barnard predicting Kennedy Agyapong as a future winner, Botchway Jr. expressed doubt. He suggested that Agyapong himself does not take such prophecies seriously and predicted tensions between the politician and the prophets should their predictions fail to materialise.

Kwesi Botchway Jr. reaffirmed his support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing the former Vice President as the most “reliable, credible, and competent” figure within the NPP.

He maintained that Dr. Bawumia remains the party’s strongest candidate and best option to secure victory in the 2028 general elections…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
