Pushing third-term bid for first-term failure Mahama is reckless – MP

The Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has criticised individuals calling for a third term for President John Dramani Mahama, describing them as “greedy and selfish politicians.”

According to the lawmaker, President Mahama is among the luckiest politicians in Ghana’s history.

He stressed that any attempt to extend the President’s stay in office would violate the Constitution, warning that even if the NDC has the numbers in Parliament, the general public does not support such a move.

Beyond the term limit issue, Mr Acquah accused the current administration of poor economic management.

He alleged that the government is relying on proceeds from illegal mining to run the economy, while destroying water bodies and forest reserves.
