Ato Forson whips Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong in lastes presidential poll
A new opinion poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics suggests that Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson would record a clear victory over former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong if he is selected as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate for the 2028 general elections.

According to the poll’s head to head projections, Dr. Forson would defeat Dr. Bawumia by 58 per cent to 38 per cent, while extending the margin against Kennedy Agyapong with 62 per cent support compared to 34 per cent.
The poll, released on Wednesday, December 31, indicated that Kennedy Agyapong’s weak showing against the NDC candidate is largely due to declining support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the five northern regions.
The survey also assessed the race to succeed President Mahama in 2029 and showed a tightly contested three-way contest. Haruna Iddrisu leads with 26 per cent, down from 29 per cent in October 2025. Dr. Ato Forson follows with 23 per cent, up from 18 per cent, while NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia places third with 22 per cent, down from 24 per cent.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang ranks fourth with 11 per cent, followed by Julius Debrah with 7 per cent, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa with 6 per cent, Professor Joshua Alabi with 2 per cent, and Eric Opoku with 2 per cent.
The National Tracking Poll was conducted across all 16 regions using a mix of web-based, telephone, and face to face interviews. It carries a 99 per cent confidence level with a margin of error of plus or minus 1.1 per cent…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
