You’re doing great but I don’t want to praise you too much – NPP’s Pianim tells Mahama

Leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Pianim, has praised President John Dramani Mahama during the 54th National Delegates Conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers held on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Speaking at the conference, the economist and statesman commended President Mahama, who was also present, for responding personally to the concerns of teachers.

Kwame Pianim also shared a light-hearted comment, suggesting that the president’s actions since assuming office are negatively affecting the fortunes of the NPP.

He said the president’s approach could result in him securing overwhelming support from teachers, a situation he described as worrying for his party.

“Mr President, I’m happy and grateful you are here. Whenever the teachers call you, you don’t send just anybody. Some people will not even send the Minister for Education; they would send somebody else.

“But I don’t want to praise you too much, because the way we started with ‘tsoboi’ and then everybody was cheering. On one side we don’t say, we say something else.

He added, “And I don’t want us to lose the support of some of the teachers the way you are going now. You take about 80% of the teachers’ vote, and we don’t want that.”…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
