Kwesi Nyantakyi subtly endorses Kennedy Agyapong
Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has praised Kennedy Agyapong, describing the former Assin Central Member of Parliament as “fearless and courageous” as the New Patriotic Party prepares to elect its flagbearer on Saturday, January 31, ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking on the AM Show on Joy News, Mr Nyantakyi highlighted Kennedy Agyapong’s popularity across the country.
“If you go to the markets, churches, and lorry stations, everybody is talking about Kennedy Agyapong. He appears to be the frontrunner in this contest,” he said.
He noted that Agyapong’s appeal cuts across party lines, adding that even supporters of opposition parties admire him.
“Kennedy Agyapong is one particular politician in Ghana whose popularity knows no bounds. There are people in other political parties, such as the NDC, CPP and others, who admire and support him and are even asking the NPP to present him as its candidate so they can vote for him,” he added.
Kennedy Agyapong is contesting the NPP flagbearership alongside former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Minister of Food and Agriculture Dr Bryan Acheampong, former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.
Mr Nyantakyi suggested that Kennedy Agyapong and Kwabena Agyepong stand out from the other contenders, who were part of the NPP government that lost the December 2024 elections.
“The link between him and the inadequacies of the previous regime is minimal or remotely indirect to him. He comes off as somebody with a clean slate. He comes as a person of his own and policies you can relate to,” he said…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
