NDC practising political intolerance – NPP Constituency Secretary

The Constituency Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Atwima Nwabiagya North, Mr Ralph Osei Wusu, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of political intolerance, contrasting it with what he described as the NPP’s inclusive and tolerant approach to governance.

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show hosted by Oheneba Nana Asiedu, Mr Osei Wusu said that under the NPP administration, political engagement was open to all, regardless of party affiliation. According to him, the NPP treated everyone as friends and upheld freedom of expression.

Mr Osei Wusu further criticised what he described as the NDC government’s treatment of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, calling it unfair and harmful to Ghana’s democratic practice.

He emphasised that active political participation is essential to the growth of democracy and warned that actions perceived as targeting political opponents could undermine democratic development.

According to him, the actions against Chairman Wontumi slowed down the pace of the NPP’s campaign activities in the Ashanti Region. He noted that around June 2024, the party’s campaign efforts appeared stalled but gained renewed momentum following Chairman Wontumi’s full involvement.

Mr Osei Wusu revealed that about seven months ago, Chairman Wontumi embarked on a regional tour, which reinvigorated party activities and later evolved into the now-popular “Bawumia Tour.”

In conclusion, Mr Ralph Osei Wusu expressed strong confidence in Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that he believes Dr Bawumia will emerge victorious in the NPP’s internal contest. He urged party delegates to rally behind Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
