Common foods that contain natural poisons that can cause death or harm your health

Many people believe that eating an apple a day is always beneficial. While apples themselves are highly nutritious, their seeds contain cyanide, a potent poison. In large amounts, cyanide can cause rapid breathing, convulsions, and even death. Fortunately, the hard coating of apple seeds prevents the cyanide from being released when swallowed accidentally, making occasional consumption generally safe.

2. Nutmeg

Nutmeg is a popular spice used to add a warm, nutty flavor to many dishes. However, overconsumption can be harmful. Nutmeg contains myristicin, a compound that in high doses can cause hallucinations, confusion, fatigue, and even seizures.

3. Unripe Potatoes

Potatoes are a staple food worldwide, but unripe or sprouted potatoes contain a natural toxin called glycoalkaloid, found in the leaves, sprouts, and green parts of the tuber.
