11 foreigners arrested in Accra for printing counterfeit money
The Weija Sector Command of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has arrested 11 foreign nationals over their involvement in counterfeit currency printing and cyber fraud at a residential apartment in Tuba, Accra.

This was disclosed in a press release dated January 7.
“Suspects were apprehended during an intelligent-led operation conducted by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Cyber Fraud Taskforce Unit of the Weija Sector Command, on 5th January, 2026,” the release said.
It added that, “Items seized from the scene include: Laptops, Routers, Mobile phones, Fake dollar notes and tabletop printers/photocopier machines. The suspects are currently in custody for further investigations.”
The Ghana Immigration Service praised the public for their continued support and encouraged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities involving foreigners in their communities to law enforcement agencies.
“The Service particularly urges landlords and property owners to exercise due diligence when renting out their properties to foreign nationals since harbouring illegal immigrants is an offence under section 52(1)(b) of the Immigration Act 2000 Act 573,” it cautioned.
“The Comptroller General of Immigration and Management of the Service remain committed to protecting the territorial integrity of the country and ensuring compliance with Immigration Laws at all times,” it assured…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
