One of the powerful kings in Ashanti is dead
The Chief of Effiduase Amanfo in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Adu Ameyaw II, has passed away.
Nana Adu Ameyaw II, known in private life as Professor Emeritus Osei Kofi Darkwa, was formally announced dead to the people of Effiduase and Asante Mampongman by the Mamponghemaa, Nana Agyakomaa Difie II.
Speaking to traditional authorities in Effiduase and Asante Mampongman, Nana Agyakomaa Difie II said the Effiduasehene had been unwell for some time and had been receiving treatment from specialist doctors.
She said he later died despite medical efforts.
Nana Adu Ameyaw II was enstooled in 2017 after succeeding Nana Owusu Ansah Ababio, also known as Nana Osei Worae II.
