44-year-old Taxi driver falls to death from a storey building in Shama Western Region

A 44-year-old man has died after falling from a storey building at the community center in Abuesi, Shama District.

Enock Arthur, the Assembly Member for the area, told Connect News that he received an urgent call early on January 8, 2026, about a distressing incident at the community center. When he arrived, he found the man lying dead in a pool of blood.

Investigations revealed that the deceased, a local taxi driver named Frank Essilfie Ebea, regularly exercised on the building’s staircase before going to work.

The staircase, part of the still-under-construction community center, is lined with tires for safety. However, the Assembly Member believes the slippery surface of the tires may have caused the fatal fall.

Frank, a native of the area, leaves behind one child and no wife.

Police have begun investigations, and the body has been taken to St. Edward’s Mortuary.
