God will see Ken Ofori-Atta through – Lawyer
One of the lawyers for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta, Frank Davies, has said God will see his client through the current challenges he is facing.

He said, like everyone else, Mr Ofori Atta remains under God’s care.
“The good Lord is keeping Ken Ofori-Atta like he is keeping all of us,” he said during an interview on Ghana Tonight on January 8.
Mr Davies explained that Mr Ofori Atta’s US visa is due to expire on February 14, which is why steps have been taken to extend his stay in the United States.
“Ken thought it wise to seek extension of his stay because he is seeking medical attention in the US,” he said.
“He is going through the process and when he is done, we will all know the outcome,” the lawyer added.
On January 7, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Mr Ofori Atta over issues related to his immigration status in the US.
This was contained in a public notice issued by his lawyers, Menka-Premo, Osei-Bonsu, Bruce-Cathline and Partners. The notice said the US legal team is in contact with ICE and expects the matter to be resolved quickly.
“Mr. Ofori-Atta has a pending petition for adjustment of status, which authorizes a person to stay in the US legally past the period of validity of their visa. Under US law, a change of status by this method is common,” the lawyers said.
“The Public is therefore advised to note that Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta as a law-abiding person is fully cooperating with ICE to have this issue resolved,” they added.
Mr Ofori Atta is wanted by the Attorney General and the Office of the Special Prosecutor over matters including the SML deal and the National Cathedral project. He is currently in the United States receiving medical treatment for a long-standing illness.
Although his lawyers have assured that he will return to Ghana, recent developments suggest the former Finance Minister may not return to the country soon…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
