Rare photos of where Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is being held in the US surfaced

Photos have surfaced online showing the Nevada Southern Detention Center in the United States, where former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is currently being detained after her arrest by US Marshals.

The detention facility, located in Pahrump, Nevada, is a medium-security centre operated by the US Marshals Service. It is used to hold detainees awaiting court proceedings, including those facing extradition.

Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu was arrested on January 6, 2026, following an extradition request submitted by Ghanaian authorities in July 2024.

In a statement dated January 15, 2026, and signed by Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Emmanuel Victor Smith, he stated:

“My information is that she was detained by US Marshals on January 6 and has since been kept at that detention centre. I am reliably informed that acting on an extradition request sent to the U.S. authorities sometime in July 2024, US Marshals arrested Tamakloe-Attionu and placed her in detention to await her day in court.”

In April 2024, a Ghanaian court sentenced Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu to 10 years in prison with hard labour after convicting her on 78 counts, including causing financial loss to the state, stealing, conspiracy to steal, money laundering, and breaches of the Public Procurement Act.

Her co-accused, former MASLOC Chief Operating Officer Daniel Axim, was sentenced to five years in prison with hard labour.

The offences were committed between 2013 and 2016 and involved the misuse of funds intended for MASLOC operations.

The trial, which began in 2019, saw the prosecution call six witnesses.
