NPP MP betrays Bawumia

The Member of Parliament for Hemang Lower Denkyira, Mr Lawrence Agyinsam, has announced that he will not support former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the January 31 presidential primary.

He said his decision was influenced by former President Akufo-Addo, who had previously persuaded him to back Dr Bawumia but has now withdrawn his support for the man once regarded as an “economic wizard.”

The lawmaker revealed that he now supports Dr Bawumia’s closest contender, Kennedy Agyapong.

He made the announcement at a public event where he engaged with party supporters in his constituency.

He explained that he had supported Dr Bawumia because of Akufo-Addo’s influence, but now that the former president no longer supports him, he has withdrawn his backing.

He said he believes Dr Bawumia does not have what it takes to win the 2024 elections, and therefore, they should vote strongly for Kennedy Agyapong.

“I was once a strong supporter of Dr Bawumia, but I left his side due to four reasons. One of the main reasons I left his campaign was due to the influence former President Akufo-Addo had on me, but as we speak, Akufo-Addo is now supporting Bawumia, and so I have also decided to leave his side. I now support Kennedy Agyapong. Kennedy Agyapong is the one candidate who has what it takes to win the 2028 elections.”…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
