I told Dr Adutwum my brother, this battle is not yours – Annoh-Dompreh
The Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has called on New Patriotic Party delegates to support former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, saying he is on track to win the party’s presidential primaries.

Mr Annoh-Dompreh made the call on Monday, January 19, 2026, when he joined Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour in the Ashanti Region and addressed party supporters and delegates ahead of the contest to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
He said the party must make a strategic and united decision and cautioned delegates against spreading their votes among several candidates.
“Bawumia is going to win the forthcoming presidential primaries. So don’t go and spoil your vote,” he said, adding that unity behind a clear frontrunner is important for rebuilding the party.
He mentioned fellow aspirant Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, saying he respects him personally but believes the timing is not right for his ambition.
“Dr Adutwum is my close friend and we all worship as members of the Church of Pentecost. We even meet at the business committee and I told him, my brother, this battle is not yours,” Annoh-Dompreh said.
He added that leadership succession in the party should be guided by patience and a long-term outlook.
“This is not your time, although your time will come,” he said, stressing his belief that Dr Bawumia remains the best candidate to lead the NPP into the next general elections…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
