They had a little argument and he stabbed her three times – How former NPP PC stabbed his wife

New details have emerged following reports that Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle, stabbed his wife, Gilda Norty, in the United States.

In an interview on Citi News on January 20, 2026, Gilda Norty’s family provided a detailed account of the incident. David Gyapanin, her uncle, described the situation as deeply troubling, noting that the couple had been experiencing minor domestic issues that escalated unexpectedly.

He agreed on condition that she would not mention his name,” he recounted.

He further revealed that Gilda Norty was able to seek medical attention on her own after her husband refused to help. “Fortunately, she had the car key and managed to drive to the hospital where she works. She is getting better. As a family, we want nothing less than justice,” Gyapanin added.

The family has vowed to pursue justice and ensure accountability for the attack. “It happened in the States and we want to believe that the laws there will be enforced fully. You can’t marry someone’s daughter, and just because she says she no longer wants the marriage, decide to end her life. If justice isn’t served in the States, when he comes to Ghana, we will seek justice,” he concluded.

The case highlights both domestic violence and the challenges victims face in seeking immediate protection and justice, even in situations where the survivor manages to act quickly to save herself…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
