Watch the trending part of Agradaa during court hearing

Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Nana Agradaa, appeared before the Amasaman Circuit Court on January 21, 2026, to challenge her 15-year prison sentence.

At the court, Agradaa covered her face with a white handkerchief and was dressed in a white scarf, a white dress and a black skirt.

Written on the handkerchief with a pen was the inscription, “1 John 5:4–10.”

The Bible passage written on the handkerchief, according to the New International Version, reads, “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

“This is the one who came by water and blood Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which He has given about His Son.

“Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his son.”

The court has adjourned the case to February 5, 2026.

Lawyers for Nana Agradaa said the court directed both the appellant and the state to file their written addresses. However, the Attorney General’s office asked for more time, explaining that its address was not ready.

Agradaa was seen at the court premises under the custody of prison officers, with her husband, Angel Asiamah, present.

She is currently serving her sentence at the Nsawam Female Prison after an Accra Circuit Court sentenced her to 15 years in prison on July 3, 2025, for charlatanic advertising and defrauding by false pretences.

She was accused of collecting various sums of money from church members after claiming to possess money-doubling powers.

Prosecutors said their case was based on her activities on Today’s TV and several social media platforms, where she promoted the scheme and invited the public to an all-night church service, promising to double their money through spiritual means…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
