When you look at their actions attacking each other, this can only be spiritual – NPP’s Joseph Azumah

The Member of Parliament for the Akrofuom Constituency, Joseph Azumah, has suggested that the internal problems facing the New Patriotic Party ahead of its flagbearer primaries are spiritual in nature.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, the MP said the ongoing infighting and what he described as “unimaginable actions,” especially by some key party figures, point to spiritual issues.

“When you look at what they are doing, attacking each other, doing things beyond imagination, this can only be spiritual. Either they declare a 38-day or 41-day prayer and fasting,” he said.

Joseph Azumah referred to the biblical story of the Tower of Babel, comparing the confusion among its builders to the current divisions within the NPP. He claimed that the party’s alleged quest for “state capture” while in government angered God, resulting in the disunity being experienced.

The Akrofuom MP called on NPP leaders and flagbearer aspirants to seek divine direction through prayer and fasting, and to consult pastors for spiritual help.
