Temitope Kolawole, a former armed robber who has turned evangelist, shared the reason behind his transformation after spending 25 years in prison for theft.

A report by Punch on January 24, 2026, states that Kolawole found a paper on the ground titled “One Day” while preparing for a robbery. Reading it, he felt as if the author understood both his past and his intentions, which moved him to tears and made him abandon his theft plans.

Kolawole said there was a phone number on the paper, which he called to share his story. The person who answered prayed with him and encouraged him to embrace God and leave his life of crime.

This life-changing event happened on September 6, 2021, and since then, Kolawole has stopped stealing. He recounted, “One day, while preparing for another operation, I stumbled upon a paper titled ‘One Day’. It felt as though the writer was observing my life—both my past actions and my upcoming plans.
