Dr Clement Abas Apaak opens up on alleged tensions with Haruna Iddrisu

The Office of the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, has rejected claims circulating on social media about his working relationship with the substantive Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu.

The clarification follows a video shared by Kelvin Taylor on the “With All Due Respect” programme, which suggested there was tension between the two officials.

In a statement dated Friday, January 30, 2026, and signed by Samson Samari, Personal Assistant to the Deputy Minister, the office said the claims in the video are misleading and do not reflect the reality within the ministry.

“It has come to the attention of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Education, Hon Dr Clement Apaak, that a video is circulating on social media featuring commentary by Kelvin Taylor of ‘With All Due Respect’ Programme regarding the working relationship between the Deputy Minister and the substantive Minister for Education, Hon Haruna Iddrisu,” parts of the statement shared on Facebook said.

The statement added, “We wish to state unequivocally that the comments made in the video do not represent the views, sentiments, or experiences of the Deputy Minister. Hon Dr Clement Apaak fully dissociates himself from the claims made by Kelvin Taylor in the video.”

It addressed specific allegations raised in the video, describing them as inaccurate and without basis.

The statement stressed that the deputy minister has never complained about his duties or how he is treated at the ministry.

“Hon Dr Clement Apaak has never expressed, privately or publicly, any grievance regarding his role or the delegation of duties within the Ministry,” it said.

It also highlighted the working environment under the leadership of the substantive minister, noting that cooperation and inclusiveness guide the ministry’s operations.

“Contrary to the suggestions in the video, the Minister, Hon Haruna Iddrisu, has consistently provided a collaborative and inclusive environment,” the statement noted.

According to the Office of the Deputy Minister, Dr Apaak remains actively involved in the work of the ministry and continues to participate in high-level engagements.

“The Deputy Minister remains one of the most empowered and privileged deputies, frequently representing the Ministry at high-level functions and decision-making forums,” it stated.

The office further said the deputy minister holds the leadership of Haruna Iddrisu in high regard and shares his commitment to improving Ghana’s education sector.

It urged the public to ignore what it described as misinformation contained in the video, warning that such claims could mislead the public and affect confidence in the ministry.

“The Deputy Minister maintains the highest level of respect for the Minister’s leadership and remains committed to their shared goal of advancing the nation’s educational agenda. We urge the public to disregard the misinformation contained in the video. Such commentary is speculative and does not reflect the professional synergy currently driving the Ministry of Education,” it added.

The statement reaffirmed that the ministry remains focused on unity, cooperation and the effective implementation of policies to improve education delivery nationwide…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
