OH WOW!: Watch the trending video of Ashanti Regional Minister treating injured student

Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene stepped in with his medical background to assist an injured student during the Ashanti Inter-Schools Music Fiesta held at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.

The incident occurred after a clash broke out among students at the event. In a video circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Amoakohene is seen calmly putting on medical gloves and leading a team of health workers to attend to a female student who had sustained an injury.

The student’s condition was later confirmed to be non-life-threatening. After receiving treatment, she was able to rejoin her schoolmates and continue with the day’s activities.

Dr. Amoakohene, who is both a trained medical doctor and a government official, showed quick response and leadership in the moment—drawing praise from many for combining his professional training with public service.

Born on September 24, 1990, Dr. Amoakohene is a native of Nsuta-Asuafu in the Ashanti Region but was born in Accra. He is an old student of Osei Tutu Secondary School.

He pursued his tertiary education at the University of Ghana, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences in 2014, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) in 2020.

He continued to build on his academic and professional credentials by earning a Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science degree in 2023 from the University for Development Studies (UDS), and an MBA in 2024 from the Accra Business School.

Now serving as the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Amoakohene is recognised for his contributions in healthcare, governance, and youth leadership—often drawing on his dual background in medicine and public administration to serve the region effectively.
