These are some of the cons of doing God’s work – Emotional Agradaa’s husband breaks
Founder of Heaven Way Ministries International, Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has finally spoken after receiving a 15-year prison sentence from an Accra Circuit Court.

The self-styled evangelist, known for her controversial past and bold claims of spiritual powers, was convicted on several counts of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement. According to the court, Agradaa lured members of her church into handing over large sums of money with promises of financial miracles and spiritual breakthroughs that never materialised.
After the verdict was delivered, Agradaa was seen being escorted out of the courtroom. Despite the serious nature of her sentence, she remained composed and calm. In a brief interaction with reporters, she simply urged her followers to keep praying.
Her demeanor in court surprised many, with some observers noting that she did not appear shaken or emotional about the lengthy jail term.
Meanwhile, her husband, Mr. Eric Oduro Assiamah, has come out to publicly criticize the ruling, calling it unfair. He insisted that the money Agradaa received from her church members was given voluntarily and should be seen in the context of normal religious offerings.
“Don’t church members pay tithe and offering? There is no church that doesn’t accept money. These are some of the cons of doing God’s work. Physically, it’s difficult, but we look up to God,” he said.
Mr. Assiamah defended his wife, arguing that she never forced anyone to give money and that the court misunderstood her intentions. He believes her conviction is more a case of religious misunderstanding than actual criminal behavior.
The sentencing has sparked a wide range of reactions across the country. While some Ghanaians believe justice has finally been served, others are coming to her defence, suggesting that she is a victim of targeted religious persecution.
For now, Nana Agradaa is expected to begin serving her 15-year jail term immediately, marking a dramatic turn in the life of a woman who once commanded national attention with her bold prophecies and flashy displays of wealth.
