Watch as Angel Asiamah takes over pulpit for the first time without Agradaa

Following Evangelist Patricia “Agradaa” Asiamah’s 15-year prison sentence for defrauding by false pretenses and charlatanic advertisement, her husband, Angel Asiamah, stepped in to lead the Sunday service at the Heavenway Champion International Ministry on July 6, 2025.

During his sermon, Angel Asiamah told congregants that his wife’s imprisonment is part of God’s plan to spread the gospel in prisons.

Agradaa was convicted on July 3, 2025, by an Accra Circuit Court after being found guilty of using a televised broadcast to lure followers with false promises of money multiplication.

Addressing the church, Asiamah compared her situation to biblical events involving Jesus and Jonah.

“Look at what happened to Jesus with his crucifixion and everything. It was all part of the plan. The same way, when God wanted Jonah to preach to the people of Nineveh and he refused, he had to enter the belly of the big fish.

“So, what happened to our mother in the Lord is also part of the plan. If God wants you to preach at Nsawam, will you use a phone to preach there? You have to be there in person… even though it seems like she has been jailed for 15 years, she is there on a mission for God,” he said.

He added that while it may seem like a punishment to many, it is part of a divine assignment.

“In the eyes of men, my wife has been jailed for 15 years, but to God… a thousand years is like a day.”

He urged the congregation to stay strong in faith and continue supporting the ministry.
