Pregnant woman beaten to pulp over ‘weed’ at Kasoa

A three-month pregnant woman, Hannah Tetteh, is currently battling for her life at the Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital after a violent assault by a man who claimed to be a police informant.

The disturbing incident took place at the Kasoa Central Business District in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

According to the victim’s mother, Victoria Saah, the man accused her daughter of selling marijuana, then physically attacked her in broad daylight. She said the suspect went as far as stripping Hannah half-naked before she passed out from the beating.

Ms. Saah further claimed that after the brutal assault, the man called in a police patrol team from the Central East Regional Police Command and falsely reported that Hannah was involved in drug peddling.

Now, the family is demanding justice. Ms. Saah insists her daughter is innocent and has no connection to any drug activity.

“My daughter is not a weed seller. She’s innocent and now fighting for her life because of this false accusation,” she said, clearly emotional.

The family is urging the Ghana Police Service to launch a full investigation into the matter and ensure that the man responsible for the attack is held accountable. They are also calling on human rights groups and the general public to help push for justice for Hannah.
