Ablekuma North rerun: NPP sensing defeat – Kalamu
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly, Kalamu Adamu Musah, has dismissed the concerns raised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the presence of National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign posters near the Church of Pentecost polling station in Odorkor, calling the complaint a diversionary tactic.

In an interview with Channel One News’ Jude Duncan, monitored by DailyNewsGhana, the MCE explained that the posters were not newly mounted and do not violate any electoral guidelines. He said they had been placed there more than a week ago and argued that both parties had campaign materials in the constituency, with no special privilege given to any side.
“These are posters which were not done today; they have been done for over a week,” Musah said. “It is not only peculiar to the NDC. Maybe one party’s own may outnumber the other. It is normal. This was done over a week or so ago.”
Musah also pointed out what he called inconsistencies in the NPP’s conduct, highlighting their earlier threats to boycott the election but now being fully involved in the rerun.
“I think it is one of their tactics. These are the same people who said they would not take part in the election, but you are seeing them taking part. So why will you trust the NPP?” he stated.
He concluded by expressing confidence that the NDC would win in all 19 polling stations involved in the rerun.
“They are just giving excuses. They are seeing the signs. They are very clear — they are losing all 19 polling stations. I can assure you of that,” he said.
