Akwatia by-election is for us – NDC
Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has voiced strong confidence that the party will secure victory in the upcoming Akwatia by-election.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Gbande stated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lost public trust due to a lack of development in the constituency and increasing national dissatisfaction.
“We will win the Akwatia by-election. There is no development there. The Peace Council should intervene ahead of the elections to avoid any form of violence,” he said.
He also called on the Electoral Commission to ensure a transparent and non-partisan recruitment process to help rebuild public confidence in its operations.
The by-election follows the passing of the sitting MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi, leaving the Akwatia parliamentary seat vacant.
The Electoral Commission is yet to announce a date for the election.
