NDC supporters in Assin North drags out YEA Director from office
Tensions flared in Assin North on Monday, July 21, as supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) forcibly removed District Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Director, Christian Ankomahene Amoah, from office, claiming he was not the rightful appointee.

Mr. Amoah, who had held the position for over two months, also serves as the Deputy Constituency Organiser of the NDC.
However, party loyalists, led by the substantive Constituency Organiser, stormed the YEA office in Assin Breku, broke the locks, and replaced them before installing Samuel Bright Ativi as the new director.
The aggrieved supporters argued that the role was meant for the substantive organiser, Mr. Ativi, and not his deputy.
They claimed Mr. Amoah occupied the office without proper approval from the party’s regional or national leadership.
“I don’t know how it ended up with my deputy, but I have now resumed duty as the legitimate Director,” Mr. Ativi told Citi FM.
“I have received my appointment letter and officially taken over.”
