Two arrested for butchering a herbal doctor at Bekwai
Two suspects have been arrested by police for brutally attacking a 39-year-old herbal doctor, James Owusu, at Bekwai Dominase in the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred on the night of Sunday, July 20, 2025, around 9:00 PM.
According to reports from OTEC News, the attack was triggered by a recent motorcycle (Aboboyaa) theft in the Dominase area. The suspects — identified as Emma, a carpenter, and Kofi — allegedly mistook the victim for a thief.
James Owusu was returning from a trip when the two suspects confronted him, accusing him of theft. Despite the victim’s efforts to explain his innocence, a brief exchange of words escalated into violence, with the suspects attacking and butchering him until they believed he was dead.
James Owusu survived the attack but remains in critical condition at the Bekwai Hospital and is yet to speak.
Emma and Kofi are currently in police custody as investigations continue into the incident.
