Don’t vote Kennedy Agyapong as flagbearer, Anas is going to ruin him soon – NPP warned

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has strongly cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against replacing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as their flagbearer ahead of the 2028 presidential election, insisting he remains the party’s best hope for victory.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, as monitored by DailyNewsGhana, Ampaw claimed that investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is allegedly holding a damaging exposé against Kennedy Agyapong, which could ruin his political and business future.

“I am telling you that Anas has another exposé about Kennedy Agyapong. I know what I am talking about. He wants to punish Kennedy by ending his political career and business,” Ampaw asserted.

He warned that Anas is waiting for the NPP to make the “mistake” of electing Kennedy Agyapong as flagbearer—at which point, he says, the exposé will be released.

According to Ampaw, choosing Kennedy would cause the NPP to “surrender” in the 2028 elections. While he described Kennedy Agyapong as a “nice gentleman” and a potential presidential candidate, he argued that the timing is wrong.

“NPP should help Kennedy Agyapong deal with Anas and stick with Bawumia as flagbearer,” he advised.
