NPP presidential primary: Dr Adutwum run to pastors for protection (VIDEO)
Presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has turned to divine intervention as part of his preparations for the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

A short video circulating on social media shows Dr. Adutwum surrounded by men in cassocks who were offering prayers for him.
Another video shared on his official X page confirmed that the prayer session was part of a deliberate effort to seek spiritual guidance in his quest to become the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
Before the prayers, Dr. Adutwum addressed the congregation, stating, “We cannot sit idle and allow poverty to overshadow us. We have to wage war against poverty and overcome it.”
He further added, “I am here to inform you that I wish to contest as the flagbearer of the NPP, with Ghana’s transformation as my agenda.”
During the session, Dr. Adutwum sat with his eyes closed and hands folded, nodding in agreement to the prophetic declarations being made over him.
The session featured a worship song, “Sumsum Kronkron Bra” (“Come, Holy Spirit”) by Elder Mireku, which set the tone for the prayers.
Following the spiritual engagement, Dr. Adutwum took to his official X page to share his reflections on the experience.
“I felt spiritually uplifted when some clergymen in the Ashanti Region invited me to share with them why I had resolved to contest for the flagbearership position in the NPP,” he declared.
Dr. Adutwum, a former Minister of Education, has officially announced his intention to run in the NPP presidential primary, which is scheduled to take place on January 31, 2026.
Other potential contenders for the party’s flagbearer position include Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, and former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko.
